This event is scheduled on July 21, 2017 at 3:00 PM - 4:30 PM ET.
- (1888PressRelease) June 30, 2017 - The Knowledge Group/The Knowledge Congress Live Webcast Series, the leading producer of regulatory focused webcasts, announced today that it has scheduled a live webcast entitled: The New York’s Supreme Court Commercial Division Rules: Navigating Recent Alterations.
Event Synopsis:
The Commercial Division of the New York's Supreme Court aims to provide businesses with an efficient, effective and just forum for resolving complicated business conflicts. To do this, the Commercial Division Rules are continuously being examined and evaluated, so that they may reflect the demands of commercial litigation in the modern-day context.
In the Fall of 2016, the Commercial Division announced a series of proposed changes to the Commercial Division Rules. Six of those proposals may go into effect this 2017. Although these proposals would not alter practice before the Commercial Division in the same manner that the 2014 and 2015 updates did, they may prove important for parties and counsel litigating or considering litigating in the forum.
This course offers an overview of the new and evolving features of the Commercial Division Rules. A panel of thought leaders and practitioners will provide the audience with a useful roadmap in litigating complex commercial cases in New York in light of these changes.
In this LIVE Webcast, the speakers will discuss:
-The Highlights of the Proposed Changes:
-Hyperlink Requirements
-Sealing of Court Records
-Model Language for Forum Selection
-Estimated Length of Trial
-Consultation Regarding Expert Testimony
-Temporary Restraining Order Requirements
-Other Important Changes
-How These Changes Will Affect Your Practice
-Best Compliance Practices
