The Key By Pop Classical Singer Aria Tesolin Scores A Radio Hit
'The Key' single by Aria Tesolin rises into the Top 20 on New Music Weekly radio charts.
- (1888PressRelease) July 26, 2013 - US commercial radio success has arrived for Canadian contemporary pop classical singer and poet Aria Tesolin with her radio hit The Key. The Key rose to the Top 20 at #19 on radio charts with over 1112 spins per week across the US, joining major artists Justin Timberlake, Pink, Bruno Mars, and Taylor Swift, and Michael Buble in AC Radio Charts published by New Music Weekly Magazine. The Key is currently #19 on the Hot 100 Singles Chart. The Key was launched for Canadian radio on July 8th.
On June 8th, 2103, after just eight weeks with no previous chart performance, The Key became the highest debuting top 40 single in two radio formats, Top 40 and Adult Contemporary (AC).
Tesolin is the only pop classical singer with a hit on the contemporary pop Top 40 format, a rarity. Popular audience tastes are responding very well to Aria's unique music. Music and lyrics for The Key were composed and written by Tesolin herself, making this achievement an even sweeter personal victory for the artist.

The Key is the lead single from Tesolin's newest album, Ascension, which features exciting new pop sensibilities to complement her classically trained operatic voice. Fans have described the singer's strikingly beautiful voice as majestic, ethereal and mesmerizing.
For Ascension, Tesolin and producer Douglas Romanow developed a new style of music that combines the poetic originality of her lyrics in an innovative sonic landscape where classical influences meet a modern electronic sound (including harp and cello mixed with electronic piano and synthesizer effects).
Ascension shows Aria following an exciting artistic and musical direction, one best described as pop classical & contemporary pop fusion with an occasional touch of pop and crooner jazz, in songs where her polished signature vocals with classical roots soulfully play with music, motif and meaning.
"The Key is about falling in love in a dream. Having the opportunity to be so involved with all aspects of The Key, and the entire album, has made it even more special to me, because these songs are coming from deep inside me," says Tesolin. "I love being a songwriter as much as I love being a singer and performer, so it's definitely something I plan on doing again for my next album. I'm always jotting down ideas and melodies for songs, I never really stop writing."
