  • (1888PressRelease) September 15, 2011 - At the age of 25, obviously a woman of extremely diverse talents, Tina Guo has already developed a fascinating international multi-faceted performing career as a solo classical cellist, rock/metal/fusion electric cellist, and acclaimed recording artist known for her distinctive sound and improvisatory style.

    Her talent has not gone un-noticed as she will be a featured player on the electric and acoustic cellos, as well as the chinese instrument erhu in Cirque Du Soleil's Michael Jackson "The Immortal" World Tour, an international all-arena tour that begins October 2011.

    On the Classical side, Tina has appeared as a soloist with the San Diego Symphony, the State of Mexico National Symphony, the Thessaloniki State Symphony in Greece, the Bari Symphony in Italy, the Petrobras Symphony and the Barra Mansa Symphony in Brazil, and the Vancouver Island Symphony in British Columbia.

    On the rock and metal side, Tina recently recorded solo cello for John Legend and Tila Tequila, played on Derek Sherinian's (Dream Theater) new album with Zakk Wylde, played on the soundtrack for Hancock, Red Riding Hood, Battle: Los Angeles, Clash of the Titans, Predators, The Fast and the Furious, and on the TV shows Family Guy, American Dad, King of the Hill, among others. A frequent collaborator with film composer greats including Hans Zimmer, John Debney, and Brian Tyler, Tina has been the featured cello and electric cello soloist on Sherlock Holmes, Iron Man 2, Inception, and Abduction. Her solos on the electric cello are also featured on the season's score of Iron Chef and her arrangement and performance of "The Flight of the Bumble-Bee" was featured in the end credits for Ben Stiller's The Heartbreak Kid.

    Tina's instrumental metal music video for her song "Queen Bee" premiered at the LA Downtown Film Festival and won "Best Music Video/Short Film." "Queen Bee" was also nominated for Best Music Video by the Hollywood Music and Media Awards. "Queen Bee" and "Forbidden City" are also both available for download to play on the Rock Band Network.

    Her newest music video, for "Forbidden City," off her new multi-genre solo album "The Journey" will be released in September of 2011. Her newest record, "The Journey," released under her own label Guo Industries and distributed through Universal, is a multi-genre project ranging from traditional classical works to film music to industrial metal, featuring many of Tina's original compositions. The digital version of "Forbidden City" will be released on iTunes and other outlets online on October 4, 2011.
