The Gigabit Challenge Extends Executive Summary Application Deadline to November 18th
Due to the overwhelming response of submissions, and an anticipated announcement underway, Think Big Partners has extended the executive summary application deadline for The Gigabit Challenge business plan competition.
- Kansas City, MO-KS (1888PressRelease) October 26, 2011 - The Gigabit Challenge (http://www.gigabitchallenge.com), a global business plan competition looking for entrepreneurial ideas linked to the first-in-the-nation Google Fiber network, has announced that it will be extending the deadline for application and executive summary submissions. The original submission deadline was set for October 31, 2011. The deadline has been extended to midnight on November 18, 2011.
"We have had an overwhelming response to The Gigabit Challenge," said Tyler Prochnow, co-founder of Think Big Partners (http://www.thinkbigpartners.com), host of The Gigabit Challenge. "We are grateful for the numerous high quality submissions we have received thus far and feel that the high rate at which we are receiving entries warrants extending the deadline to November 18."
Prochnow also stated that, "We have also had some exciting developments on the partnership side of the contest. With the support of early partners, like the Kauffman Foundation, Entrepreneurs Unpluggd, Hovey Williams, and Loosecubes, we have established a solid foundation for the competition. We are also working on a couple of additional partnerships which will significantly enhance the benefits available to the winners. We anticipate additional announcements shortly."
The new schedule for the competition is as follows: Semi-finalists will be announced on November 28, 2011. The semi-finalists will be invited to submit business plans that will be due on December 9, 2011. The finalists will be announced on December 16, 2011. The Gigabit Challenge final pitch program and awards ceremony will be held at a day-long event on January 18, 2012 at the Plaza Branch of the Kansas City Public Library.
