- New York, NY (1888PressRelease) July 04, 2013 - According to Therese Poletti at MarketWatch.com, a recent report from Forrester Research that includes a survey of more than 4,600 consumers, has some interesting new data about consumer preferences for wearable computing devices. The survey suggests that people might prefer technology for the wrist versus the face, with 28% of respondents saying they would prefer a device on their wrist, versus 12% who said they would wear a device as glasses, from a brand they trust. Forrester calls those who would wear them "Glass Gravitators," many of whom want to be perpetually connected. The biggest group, however, 29%, said they would prefer to have their device clipped onto their clothing.
Some have questioned in recent months whether or not consumers would want a smartwatch, given that sales of wrist watches have fallen in the advent of smartphones. The Forrester survey indicates that there is a market for a device on the wrist.
The technology of the future is here, with the production of a new generation of technologies that will allow users to interact with computing devices that are worn by the bearer under, with or on top of clothing. The introduction of smart watches and glasses bring upon economic, social and personal effects that will revolutionize the human experience. These technologies will be debated at Golden Networking's Wearable Computing Conference 2013 (http://www.wearable-computing-conference.com), "Revolutionizing the Human Experience Through Next-Generation Technology", to be held in New York City, on September 25.
Wearable Computing Conference 2013 is produced by Golden Networking (http://www.goldennetworking.net), the premier networking community for business and technology executives, entrepreneurs and investors. Panelists, speakers and sponsors are invited to contact Golden Networking
