The Fort Ticonderoga Association Names Board President-Elect
Born in Keene Valley and raised in Ticonderoga from the age of three, Morhouse graduated from Ticonderoga High School in 1962. He holds an undergraduate degree in history from Williams College and a law degree from Columbia University School of Law.
- New York, NY (1888PressRelease) November 17, 2011 - The Board of Trustees of The Fort Ticonderoga Association has named Sanford W. Morhouse of Ticonderoga, NY, as a Vice-President and designated him as President-Elect of the Association Board. Morhouse will succeed the current Fort Ticonderoga Association President Peter S. Paine, Jr. of Willsboro, NY when his term expires. Association Morhouse's election occurred during the annual fall meeting of the Fort Ticonderoga Board held on October 8.
Born in Keene Valley and raised in Ticonderoga from the age of three, Morhouse graduated from Ticonderoga High School in 1962. He holds an undergraduate degree in history from Williams College and a law degree from Columbia University School of Law.
A trustee of Fort Ticonderoga since 2010, Morhouse is Of Counsel at the New York City law firm Dewey & LeBoeuf, LLP, one of the world's largest international law firms. A partner since 1977 in Dewey Ballantine, LLP, a predecessor firm of Dewey & LeBoeuf, Morhouse chaired the Real Estate Department and the Private Equity Group of Dewey, Ballantine. He also Co-Chaired its Corporate Department and served for twenty years on the firm's Management Committee. Morhouse served ten years on Dewey Ballantine's Executive Committee, and two years as its Co-Chairman.
During Morhouse's tenure in the leadership of the firm, Dewey Ballantine opened offices in the Silicon Valley, Warsaw, Frankfurt, Rome, Milan, and Beijing.

Morhouse is a member of several boards including Office Power, Inc., Lasair Capital, LLC, Broad Hollow Estates, Inc., Damon Runyon Cancer Research Foundation, The Benedictine School Foundation, and the Arto Monaco Historical Society. He also serves on the Executive Committee of the Ticonderoga Revitalization Alliance, an organization committed to building economic growth in Ticonderoga and the surrounding region.
