The World's Largest Manufacturer of Photographic Backdrops alleges that Backdrop Outlet has violated their intellectual property rights.
(1888PressRelease) August 26, 2009 - Mobile, AL – The Denny Manufacturing Company Inc. announced it has filed a lawsuit against Backdrop Outlet alleging copyright infringement, trademark infringement, and false advertising.
Denny Manufacturing alleges that Backdrop Outlet has unlawfully copied many of their copyrighted designs. Denny Manufacturing also alleges that Backdrop Outlet has used photos of their products in the Backdrop Outlet catalog and has also infringed on the FLEXTEX™ trademark owned by Denny Manufacturing. Denny Manufacturing is seeking an injunction to prohibit Backdrop Outlet from violating Denny Manufacturing’s intellectual property rights in the future and is seeking monetary damages. Denny Manufacturing filed this lawsuit after repeated requests to discontinue the alleged copyright infringements were ignored.
Denny Manufacturing is the world’s largest manufacturer of photographic backdrops, props, and related studio accessories. Amy Cassity, Chief Operating Officer, stated that “Denny Manufacturing takes its intellectual property rights very seriously. Denny’s copyrights and trademarks are the product of years of research and development and Denny Manufacturing is committed to protecting those rights.” The case is currently pending in United States District Court for the Southern District of Alabama.
