The Cooper Research Group have announced that they will donate a small percentage of their profit to charity.
(1888PressRelease) October 27, 2014 - The Cooper Research Group (HK) have disseminated an article to their clients stating that '1% of net profits from December 1st 2014 through December 31st 2014 will be donated, in it's entirety, to charitable causes around the world.'
The commitment seems quite bold considering the company's net profit for December 2013 was US $7.2 million and US $6.9 million for December 2012. The group's Public Affairs team have stated that "Several charities had been suggested but the list of recipients will not be finalised until December 1st. Over the next month we will be looking at charities around the world and trying to pick ones that we feel would benefit the most from the resources that we will be donating."
One client, who wishes not to have their name published, said that they would normally reserve their capital around the Christmas period but will now reconsider in light of the announcement.
The email went on to say 'It is our hope that one act of kindness will be followed by another. We hope that others in the HK and global financial communities will follow our example in time.'
The donation is not a first for CRG, whose corporate and institutional trading division donated US $48,000.00 to charities throughout 2013.
