The Collaborative Whiteboard makes working more efficient
Together with Hitachi Solutions, Swisscom is developing a new product: the Collaborative Whiteboard. This evolution of the conventional digital whiteboard software will make it possible to collaborate more efficiently, more flexibly and more creatively within and across companies. Availability as Swisscom managed service is planned for the beginning of 2012.
- (1888PressRelease) September 23, 2011 - The Collaborative Whiteboard opens the door to a new kind of collaboration. It makes it possible to hold virtual meetings between several locations via video conferencing, while at the same time allowing participants to discuss and annotate documents together on the digital whiteboard and save them on their own network. Previously this form of collaboration was only possible from computer to computer, individual laptop to individual laptop with the help of unified collaboration (UC) solutions and was not available to larger groups. The Collaborative Whiteboard from Swisscom allows interactive collaboration for entire meeting rooms, combined with visual contact via video conferencing solutions.
New software at its core
The new Collaborative Whiteboard is a further development of the digital whiteboard and closes the gap between UC and video conferencing solutions in HD quality. With the help of special software, Hitachi Easy Collaboration System, developed by Hitachi Solutions in partnership with Swisscom, the digital whiteboard has been adapted to the needs of corporate users. The Collaborative Whiteboard combines all the advantages of conventional digital whiteboard software with new possibilities and applications, such as the finding co-workers simply at a touch, visually sharing ideas over distance and the editing of documents together. This has been designed to address a comprehensive collaborative meeting experience, including a tailored interface, one-touch access to integrated software platforms and most importantly, bottom line requirements of business customers.
Availability as a Swisscom managed service combining storage, communication and network solutions is planned for first Swiss test customers for the beginning of 2012.
