The Chef's Academy Announces Student Faceoff Competition During Upcoming Carolina Hurricanes Games
Local Culinary Institute Students Participate In Cooking Competition At Arena Club Restaurant At PNC Arena.
- Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill, NC (1888PressRelease) March 01, 2013 - The Chef's Academy (http://www.thechefsacademy.com), the Culinary Division of Harrison College, a 110-year-old, nationally accredited institution that offers more than 40 degree programs in five schools of study, has announced that students from the school's Morrisville campus will compete in a faceoff cooking competition at the Arena Club Restaurant at the PNC Arena, located at 1400 Edwards Mill Rd.
In a total of four faceoff competitions, two students from The Chef's Academy will compete against one another in a fierce cooking battle where they will be responsible for creating and preparing an original entrée to serve to restaurant guests. Diners will then be asked to vote on their favorite dish and the student with the highest number of votes will be deemed the faceoff champion. Each student will be tasked with incorporating an ingredient or cooking style that represents the state of the home and visiting hockey teams.
The initial round of the competition will kick off at the Carolina Hurricanes and the Florida Panthers hockey game on Saturday, March 2 at 7:30 p.m. Additional faceoff competitions will be held at the Arena Club Restaurant on Saturday, March 9 at 7 p.m. and Saturday, April 13 at 7 p.m. The final competition on Saturday, April 20 at 7 p.m. will be a battle of desserts as two pastry students from The Chef's Academy fight for votes from dinner guests for the most delicious, unique and innovative dessert.
Chef instructors from The Chef's Academy will choose which students will participate in the faceoff competition. Chef Eddie Wilson, executive chef at The Chef's Academy, will lead and oversee the coordinating of the series between The Chef's Academy and the Carolina Hurricanes.
