Kevin Miller was the Director and Senior Curator at the Southeast Museum of Photography (SMP) from 2001 to 2014. He is currently an associate curator at SMP, which is a public museum located in Florida that holds the largest photography collection in Florida and is the largest exclusively photographic museum in the southeastern US.
'The Syrian civil war, now in its fifth year, began when a group of young people spray painted anti- regime graffiti on the walls of their school. Their arrest, detention and torture led to protests and a violent crackdown by the forces of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.
