The Buetergerds Team Hosted Their Second Successful Food Drive
John and Anja Buetergerds hosted their second annual food drive for All Faiths Food Bank in the Indian Beach Sapphire Shores (IBSS) neighborhood.
- Sarasota-Bradenton, FL (1888PressRelease) November 11, 2015 - The Buetergerds Team walked through the entire neighborhood and dropped off flyers inviting the neighbors to participate in their second annual food drive. Door knocking the entire neighborhood from Whitaker Bayou to the Ringling Museum took them about 8 days but they accomplished their goal on a sunny Saturday. The neighbors were expecting them because they had read about this food drive in the neighborhood newsletter that was mailed out approximately 4 weeks prior.
They hosted this food drive in conjunction with the neighborhood picnic. All Faiths Food Bank had given them 7 large donation boxes which were all filled to the brim by the end of the picnic. The following Monday the Buetergerds Team dropped off the food at All Faiths Food Bank. The neighbors of Indian Beach Sapphire Shores were very generous and the amount of donations could not have been achieved without them: They donated a total of 650 pounds!
Donations included canned vegetables, peanut butter and jelly, kid friendly snacks and drinks, pasta, cereal and pet food. All of the food was taken after the food drive to All Faiths Food Bank and donated. The donations should provide hundreds of meals to families in need.
The team chose this time of the year because of the upcoming holidays and because of the IBSS annual picnic on November 8th which was the designated drop off location. All Faiths Food Bank bins were provided at the entrance to the picnic so visitors could drop off their donations. Giving back is a big part of the Keller Williams Realty culture and this annual event is just one of many activities the Buetergerds Team does to help support local groups and projects in the Sarasota area.
