The Bra Recyclers Launch Bra Art Contest to Spread Word About Recycling Bras and Bra Recycling Month in October
The Bra Recyclers are hosting a Bra Art Contest, the Brazaar Showcase, in order to spread awareness for recycling bras to women in need, and to help get women (and men) excited for Bra Recycling Month in October.
- Phoenix-Mesa, AZ (1888PressRelease) July 10, 2013 - For The Bra Recyclers, it is never too early to begin ramping up and preparing for Bra Recycling Month in October, a month long bra recycling effort aimed at spreading awareness for recycling bras to support women in need. As part of this year's Bra Recycling Month, The Bra Recyclers will be hosting the first annual Brazaar Art Showcase!
The Brazaar Art Showcase is a unique opportunity for individuals and/or group to get creative and inspire, motivate and inform the women and men in their communities who are survivors of breast cancer, domestic violence and human trafficking. "The Brazaar Art Showcase is an invitation to celebrate the lives of millions of individuals who have battled and beat breast cancer, neglect and abuse to blossom into individuals who inspire and motivate us to take for granted the little things in life, even if they are as small as a bra. With the Brazaar Art Showcase this is a chance for supporters to bring out their creative side and create a unique piece with lots of 'bra-titude'," The Bra Recyclers CEO, Elaine Birks-Mitchell, said.
The Bra Recyclers are extending this invitation to everyone, from individuals to groups to corporations. While there are no restrictions on the types of materials that can be used in a Brazaar Art submission, The Bra Recyclers do encourage the use of recycled materials. Participants will be eligible to win one of three gift cards, ranging from $50-$100.
For those who are interested in inspiriting, motivating and informing their communities about breast cancer, domestic violence and human trafficking but are not interested in submitting a piece of artwork, The Bra Recyclers encourage sponsoring a bra drive in the month of October. This year's Bra Recycling Month bras recycled goal has been set even higher than previous years to 15,000! "Every year we set a goal of collecting bras and each year women (and men) around the country help us exceed our goal. This year we know we can collect 15,000 bras with the support and encouragement of those who believe in the work we are doing," said Birks-Mitchell.
