at one of New York City’s finest Jazz venues Zinc Bar, located at 82 West 3rd Street (Thompson and Sullivan St.) Greenwich Village, N Y on August 17th, 2018 at 10:00pm and 12 Midnight.

The Bill Warfield Big Band was founded January 11th, 1985. The members of this group represent the finest Jazz and studio musicians in the New York City Metropolitan area.
The group’s first recording, “New York City Jazz” on Interplay Records, was released in 1990 to much critical acclaim. Which include Streetcorner Supermarket, Scootzie and many more. The group have subsequently released “The City Never Sleeps” Seabreeze Records, 1991, “Nomad” with Dave Stryker on Steeplechase in 1995, “A Faceless Place” on Laurel Hill Records in 2005, “Duff’s Blues” with Gene Ludwig on 18th and Vine in 2008, “Le Jazz Hot” with Dave Liebman in 2012 and “Trumpet Story” with Randy Brecker on Planet Arts Network in 2014.
“My Latest album, For Lew, is a tribute to Lew Soloff, my late mentor, colleague and friend. The disc is compiled from material I’ve recorded with my big band between 1990 and 2014 and includes ten selections and two of the tracks are previously unreleased.” –Bill Warfield.
The Bill Warfield Big Band has played in many of the major Jazz clubs in NYC including Birdland, Blue Note and Iridium. The group’s focus is on creative projects centering on original compositions and arrangements of standard and classic Jazz compositions.
