  • Los Angeles-Long Beach, CA (1888PressRelease) September 06, 2012 - With 70% of black America living and suffering in welfare conditions, Willie T. Clay set out across the United States, on foot, to observe the conditions of Black Americans throughout the country. As the first American to have walked the treacherous miles across the United States from Harlem, New York to Watts, California, Willie T. Clay is now presenting a solution for America with his book The Big Walk.

"As Americans, we need to keep our focus off the problems of the past, and on implementing capital development strategies in Black America to create collective wealth; and to build a stabilized capitalistic standard for Black-controlled businesses," said Willie T. Clay, author of The Big Walk, a first hand account of the struggles faced by many Black Americans as observed by his historic walk across America.

In cooperation with Living Advantage, Inc., a Los Angeles nonprofit serving the foster youth community, The Big Walk will provide proceeds from the book to develop opportunities for our disadvantaged youth.
