The Ben Craig Center, Inc. Celebrates Its 25th Anniversary of Serving Entrepreneurs
The Ben Craig Center, Inc., celebrates their 25th anniversary with a reception to honor past leadership and small business client-tenants. Over the last quarter century the center has been home to 123 businesses. Client companies have come from many different backgrounds including high technology, medical devices, software development, and manufacturing.
- Charlotte-Gastonia-Rock Hill, NC-SC (1888PressRelease) November 17, 2011 - The Ben Craig Center, Inc., a non-profit business incubator and entrepreneur's support organization affiliated with UNC Charlotte, is celebrating their 25th anniversary. To coincide with Global Entrepreneurship Week, a November 17th reception will honor the leadership and small business client-tenants who have been part of The Ben Craig Center.
The Center, originally known as the University Business Incubator Center, opened in 1986, before moving to its current 50,000 square foot facility at the University Research Park in 1990. Doug Dawson, the incoming chairman of The Ben Craig Center's board of directors and himself a client graduate of the Center adds, "It has been an exciting 25 years but we cannot rest on our accomplishments. Now more than ever, the region needs an organization that can bring community-wide resources together to support business formation and growth. Building on the vision of our founders, The Ben Craig Center will continue to innovate and add programs that support entrepreneurs throughout the region."
A special presentation of five permanent displays will be made during the reception. Paul Wetenhall, president of The Ben Craig Center, says, "These displays commemorate the vision and purpose of the center, the strength of its leadership, and most of all, the success of clients."

The Ben Craig Center (BCC) is a program and organization that supports the success of start-up and early-stage entrepreneurs. Ben Craig accomplishes this through business incubation and acceleration services provided at a well-equipped 50,000 square foot building located in the University Research Park.
