- Salt Lake City-Ogden, UT (1888PressRelease) December 09, 2010 - Producers of the film Unicorn City are excited to announce the release of a full length theatrical trailer for the new film.
Unicorn City is a romantic comedy written by Utah native brothers Adrian and Bryan Lefler. The film's plot centers on a community of Live Action Role Play Gamers or LARPers as they are known in gaming circles. Those who have had a sneak preview of Unicorn City assure potential movie goers that, "Unicorn City is worth its weight in Gold Florins. Ode's are being written even at this very moment that shall be sug throughout the ages."

According to Bryan Lefler who is also the film's director, "For the most part, Unicorn City is the story of Voss who is played by Devin McGinn (Bones, Wizards of Waverly Place, Universal Remote). Voss is a die hard live action role playing gamer who desperately needs a job. When a position opens for his dream job with a game company, to his surprise they ask him for evidence of his leadership qualities. -Gulp!- So now he has to prove himself as a real leader. So what should he do; go organize a food drive? No way! He starts up his own Utopian society for gamers and proclaims himself the supreme leader. The only problem is that it's on public land and they really aren't supposed to there. We added some love, laughs, tears, action, crime, and an arch nemesis played by Jon Gries (Napoleon Dynamite, Astronaut Farmer, Lost) that wants to take over the community. But to round it all out, we threw in a really cool centaur" played by Utah native actor Clint Vanderlinden.
Unicorn City was shot entirely on location in Utah and was the recipient of a $30,000 grant from the Utah Film Commission as an incentive to shoot the film in Utah. Major funding for the film was provided by the Utah based company DigiCert. Ken Bretschneider owner of DigiCert also served as the films executive producer.
Unicorn City will be submitted to multiple film festivals including New York Film Festival, Cannes Film Festival, and South By South West in hopes to be selected for the upcoming 2011 Festival Season. According to Adrian Lefler, "We worked this script for over four years. It would be a great validation to all of our hard work to get into a big festival. I would be speechless if we did get in. Well maybe not speechless but we'd throw a ginormous party. Either way we're pretty confident that the film will get picked up by a major studio for distribution by next summer."
