- Phoenix-Mesa, AZ (1888PressRelease) June 05, 2013 - The Atlanta School of Sleep Medicine (ASSM) and the Academy of Clinical Sleep Disorders Disciplines (ACSDD) are pleased to announce the 2013 Sleep Disorders Across the Lifespan Conference. The conference will be held from Thursday, September 26 to Saturday, September 28, at the Scottsdale Marriott at McDowell Mountains, in Scottsdale, Az.
ASSM is working closely with the ACSDD to bridge the gap between sleep and dental professionals. This conference marks an important milestone of its own in the fields of Sleep Medicine and Dental Sleep Medicine: the first-ever fully-interdisciplinary conference for the entire sleep health care team. Dentists, physicians, dental auxiliary personnel, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, sleep technologists and respiratory therapists, will all come together to focus on the treatment of sleep disorders throughout the life cycle.
"The need for a multi-disciplinary approach to sleep health throughout the life span continues to grow with the sleep medicine field." said Dr. Russell Rosenberg, CEO of ASSM. "We are excited to partner with the ACSDD to celebrate this revolutionary approach to treatment options."
The conference will examine the full spectrum of sleep disorders, pre-natal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric, as well as emerging treatment options for each population. U.S. Congressman Paul Gossar, an Arizona representative and dental practitioner for 25 years, will speak on collaborative issues in the sleep and dental world. Other noted lecturers include keynote speaker Ellen Crean, DDS, PhD, Chirag Pandya, MD, Sally Davidson-Ward, MD, Russell Rosenberg, PhD, Helene Emsellem, MD, Rob Veis, DDS, Jeffrey Durmer, MD, PhD, and Jennifer Martin, PhD.
"Encouraging a fully interdisciplinary approach to the diagnosis, treatment, and management of sleep disorders has been a goal of the ACSDD since its founding." said ACSDD founder Michael Krahe, PhD. "Sleep Disorders Across the Lifespan marks a milestone for the ACSDD and the ASSM and the beginning of an exciting and rewarding relationship as we move together toward achieving that goal."
Conference attendees will enjoy ample time to tour the exhibit hall and meet with vendors from Airway Metrics, LLC, Cadwell Laboratories, Inc., John's Dental Lab, and Renew Digital, as well as a wide range of providers of home sleep testing.
