(1888PressRelease) August 08, 2023 - SCOTTSDALE, AZ – The Association of Professional Ball Players of America (APBPA) is proud to announce the release of a limited bottling of a very special bourbon celebrating the 99th anniversary of the organization, according to Kameron Loe, president of the APBPA. The whiskey was true team effort, blended by the master distillers and blenders at Three Chord Bourbon.

“We were introduced to the wonderful team at Three Chord Bourbon, and they graciously agreed to work with us on creating a special commemorative bottle of bourbon,” said Loe of the project. “We literally worked together with the Three Chord team and the APBPA advisory board on blending a special, one of a kind bourbon, and it turned out to be a spectacular blend.”

Three Chord Bourbon is an award-winning distiller headed up by Rock and Roll Hall of Famer, Neil Giraldo. This will be a very limited bottling, with pre-ordering happening now through August of this year only. A portion of the profits will be shared with APBPA, a 501c3 corporation to aid in the support of retired professional ball players in need.

“We found three special batches of bourbons; one from Kentucky, one from Indiana, and one from Tennessee, and we knew they would blend well,” said Ryan Gill, from the blending and distilling team at Three Chord. “We actually did Zoom taste tests with the advisory board, selected two of the three bourbons for this particular blend, and found a really great, smooth, and flavorful collaboration that everyone loved. It’s got a mash bill of 77% corn, 17% rye, and 6% malted barley. I think we were all surprised at just how great this blend tasted, and we’re proud to put this out with the APBPA.”

“There is a very limited amount of these bottles available for purchase, and we are expecting this to sell out very quickly,” said Nick Corso, board member of the APBPA. “We can think of no more handsome collaboration than baseball, bourbon, and music.
