  • Chicago, IL (1888PressRelease) October 10, 2014 - The Anti-Cruelty Society, Chicago's oldest and largest private animal welfare organization-building a community of caring by helping pets and educating people-helps raise funds and awareness by hosting its 14th annual It's Raining Cats & Dogs! benefit on Thursday, October 23 from 6-9:30 p.m. at Galleria Marchetti in Chicago.

It's Raining Cats & Dogs! is one of The Anti-Cruelty Society's largest annual fundraisers sponsored by Hill's Science Diet, Leopardo Companies, Inc., Dr. Shelly & Paulette Rubin, Printing Arts, and CS Magazine. The event, hosted by NBC5's Andy Avalos, features delectable chef tastings, complimentary bars, music, and of course, adoptable cats and dogs serving as the host committee.

"The Hill's Food, Shelter & Love (TM) program supports nearly 800 shelters in the U.S. everyday. And we are very proud to support The Anti-Cruelty Society and the great work they do to help pets and enhance animal welfare," said Arnaud Brel, Hill's Senior Product Manager, Shelter & Professional Endorsement.

Attendees will enjoy mouth-watering dishes from celebrity chefs including Cleetus Friedman of The Fountainhead and The Bar on Buena, Jimmy Bannos Sr. of Heaven on Seven, Mark Sparacino of Prosecco, Brad Alexander of The Goddess and Grocer, and so many more. Additionally, guests will enjoy a wine pull, a $5,000 cash raffle, a silent auction, and a live auction led by Marion Valle that includes a 7-day getaway in Beavercreek, Colorado; a Lake Michigan yacht cruise for 16 people; autographed memorabilia from the Chicago Bears & Chicago White Sox; and a chance for your pet to be featured in our special edition calendar. In an effort to create an even more comfortable living space for our feline residents, this year's reverse auction will fund the updating and renovating of our cat condos.
