The 2010 Florida Retina Symposium builds momentum and delivers significant education

The annual conference held on September 17-19 at Walt Disney World Resort offered attendees a highly participatory approach to education relevant to today's optometric practices. Objectives for the meeting were to offer attendees ways to develop strategies to incorporate new technology and diagnose posterior segment disease, interpret emerging data on new treatment options in retinal disease, and evaluate how to incorporate these data into practice.
Over the three days of education, doctors had the opportunity to learn from some of the industry's leading experts in their fields. Course Director, Dr. Sonya Braudway states, "This event provides optometrists with in-depth knowledge on retinal disease from leading experts in the field. The information can be applied to develop better diagnostic skills, understanding current treatment options as well as future treatment strategies for these debilitation diseases".
Leaders in their fields such as Eyetech, Zeiss Meditec, Optovue, and Optos were on location demonstrating the latest in equipment advancements. Equipment providers like these play a critical part in the early diagnosis and treatment of the majority of retinal diseases.
