Thailand law firm BSA Law and Government Helping Investors Arrive at Their Destination with New Center

(1888PressRelease) December 28, 2009 - BSA Law, one of Thailand's leading corporate legal services, is applauding the introduction of the One Start One Stop Investment Center as an invaluable addition to the investor's administrative toolkit in Thailand.

The One Start One Stop Investment Center (OSOS) opened for business on November 23rd 2009. The following investment-related agencies are some of those represented at OSOS:
• Department of Business Development
• Customs, Revenue and Excise Departments
• Department of Labor Protection and Welfare
• Office of the Board of Investment
• Department of Industrial Works
• Department of Lands
• Food and Drug Administration

In total, 21 Thai government departments are housed at the OSOS. The services provided at the OSOS will include registering a company, obtaining investment promotion privileges, arranging for the newly-broadened Environmental Impact Assessments to be completed, obtaining licenses for foreign business, and obtaining utilities to a new business site. While investors can complete some activities themselves, technicalities mean that Thai legal advice is recommended for each service.

Apisakdi Kongkangwanchoke, a lawyer with the Thailand legal service, says that "We don't believe it will replace legal counsel for investors. Thai lawyers still provide a big-picture view and a legal perspective that individual government departments don't necessarily make obvious".

"However, it will make the process much easier to fathom for investors, allow them to be more involved and more knowledgeable about the legalities of their project, and ultimately more independent", Mr Kongkangwanchoke continued.
