In this year TWD Fibres together with its subsidiary FR Safety Yarns and its costumer ETTLIN throw their proverbial hat in the ring.
We compete in the categories:
Best Innovation - Industrial Textiles
Most Innovative Company Small
Best Innovation - Sustainable Textiles
Together with ETTLIN Lichtstrukturen they compete for the award for the best innovation in industrial textiles.
ETTLIN AG was founded in 1836 as one of the first German stock corporations in textile industries. Today, the company researches, develops and produces mainly industrial textiles, which are used worldwide amongst others in abrasive- and automotive industries as well as in the textile architecture sector. Independent research and development of textile products and key technologies within the framework of international research consortiums plays a crucial role at ETTLIN. The starting point was the question how the combination of light and textile can come together for an entirely new statement - apart of the already known materials.
The application areas of the new product ETTLIN lux® makes it necessary to have yarns which are flame retardant and UV-proof. And that's why the experts of FR Safety Yarns had been integrated into the internal development team.
ETTLIN lux® is one of the competitors in the category „Best Innovation - Industrial Textiles".
This project work is just one example of how FR Safety Yarns understands cooperation and stands symptomatic for its concept. FR Safety Yarns aims to provide permanently flame retardant polyester yarns that meet all international fire safety requirements and standards while simultaneously offering individual customer service in combination with constantly high quality levels of the technologically sound yarn qualities and short delivery times. This concept provides the basis for the contribution in the category „Most Innovative Company - Small".
DIOLEN®SAFE polyester yarns are currently the only filament yarns that have passed the tests for flame retardant yarns as well as meeting the requirements for a Cradle-to-Cradle® certification. DIOLEN®SAFE yarns are produced at the parent company of FR Safety Yarns, which is TWD Fibres GmbH with headquarter and production in Germany. Apart from the C2C certification TWD Fibres and FR Safety Yarns operates in the framework of a process oriented energy and environmental management system going far beyond legal restrictions. With this specific mixture of measures to save environment and fellow human beings DIOLEN®SAFE Yarns attend in the category „Best Innovation - Sustainable Textiles".
The Future Materials Awards reflect on-going innovation in technical textiles industry, ensuring we recognize and celebrate excellence and the achievements of the very best companies and individuals. The finalists in each category will be determined at September 15th. The award ceremony will be held on November 16th as part of ITMA Fair in Milan.
