Texas Civil and Environmental Engineering Firm Offers Scholarship For Ninth Consecutive Year
Southwest Engineers extends application deadline to May 1, 2015.
- Austin-San Marcos, TX (1888PressRelease) April 29, 2015 - Southwest Engineers Inc., a full-service civil and environmental engineering consulting firm, today announced it has extended the application deadline for the Southwest Engineers scholarship program to May 1, 2015. In its ninth year, the program has awarded more than $30,000 in scholarship funds to aspiring civil and/or environmental engineering Central Texas students.
"As a family-owned business we advocate continuing education by offering high school students an opportunity to offset costs associated with college. For more than 30 years, Southwest Engineer has maintained strong community involvement and provided civil consulting services to small towns and rural communities of Texas," said John Littlefield, president of Southwest Engineers.
The 2015 Scholarship will grant up to $5,000 to one graduating high school senior per scholarship area in the Austin area and Gonzales area reaching an estimated 12 high schools. Participating schools in the Austin/Buda area include Akins High School, David Crockett High School, James Bowie High School, Hays High School, Lehman High School and William B. Travis High School.
Participating schools in the Gonzales area include Gonzales High School, Hallettsville High School, Hallettsville Sacred Heart, Luling High School, Moulton High School, Nixon-Smiley High School, Shiner High School, Shiner St. Paul, Waelder High School and Yoakum High School.
