  • Boston, MA-NH (1888PressRelease) February 21, 2012 - TestSoup (http://testsoup.com), the premier provider of innovative online and mobile test prep solutions, today announced an initiative extending across multiple social media platforms to engage the educational community in a greater conversation about educational technology. The push demonstrates the company's deepening commitment to the education.

"When we started this company, we really just wanted to provide high-quality and low-cost flashcards for standardized tests that people could access on their computer or their smartphone," said Brian Reese, TestSoup's founder and Chief Product Officer. "But the more we progressed as a company, the more we realized that we had a responsibility to help push the boundaries of what educational technology can do."

To this end, TestSoup has been seeking out the brightest lights in the educational blogosphere and in online communities such as #EdChat, a weekly Twitter conversation on education that takes place on Tuesdays and draws thousands of participants. The company has also started a LinkedIn group - Edutech Trends, Visions, & Passions - to encourage daily conversations on the latest educational technology news.

"I really got drawn into this," said John J. Walters, Director of Marketing. "I started off just dipping my toes in #EdChat and reading a few teacher blogs. Now I'm writing weekly summaries of each #EdChat conversation and tracking down the best contributors each week to get them to write guest posts on our blog that develop their great ideas even more. This community is filled with so much passion, it's hard not to get addicted."

TestSoup will be continuing their contribution to the ongoing conversation about educational technology on Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, and on their blog each and every week, adding their own voice to the other influential educators and institutions out there: fighting the good fight for education.
