TerraServer Licensed Imagery in Transformers: Dark of the Moon
TerraServer, the leader in online satellite and aerial imagery, licensed multiple images for the movie Transformers: Dark of the Moon directed by Michael Bay.
- (1888PressRelease) June 30, 2011 - TerraServer, the leader in online satellite and aerial imagery, licensed imagery for the summer blockbuster Transformers: Dark of the Moon directed by Michael Bay which premiers June 29, 2011. The satellite imagery, provided by DigitalGlobe, was licensed by Paramount Pictures for use in the major motion picture starring Shia LaBeouf and produced by Steven Spielberg.
TerraServer has worked on many projects including TV shows, commercials, major motion pictures, books, magazines, websites and many others. For Transformers: Dark of the Moon, DigitalGlobe satellite imagery of various locations including Chicago and Washington, D.C. were selected and enhanced. Multiple image tiles were mosaiced to create large, seamless images for use in the film. This technique is ideal for very large prints and posters, as well as film and television projects.
