  • (1888PressRelease) December 15, 2010 - Internet marketing company, Terra Marketing Group, announced today that they will provide full Christmas dinners to 15 large Edmonton families facing poverty though The Christmas Bureau non-profit organization.

"We believe in the spirit of Christmas," Jennifer, a company spokesman said. "We would not feel right if we ate a traditional meal with our families on Christmas Day while knowing that there were other families that we could have helped who are going hungry."

Terra Marketing Group is an online company that seeks to make money by exploiting niche marketplaces. They look to see where new products and services are emerging, figure out how to improve what is available, and then eventually dominate the marketplace. As part of their business mission, they then use a part of their profits to support reputable nonprofit organizations through donations of time, money or both.

"There is no point in making money just for the sake of making money," Jennifer said. "We intend to use our success to help make the world a better place for everyone. Working with The Christmas Bureau to help needy families is just one of our ongoing charitable efforts."

On Christmas morning, the CEO of Terra Marketing group and one of his co-workers will personally deliver food hampers to the 15 families. Each family has roughly seven members in it, the company said. The food hampers contain everything needed for a traditional Christmas dinner including turkey, ham, vegetables, potatoes, cranberry sauce, soup, coffee, peanut butter, cookies, candy, marmalade, stuffing and butter.

The Christmas Bureau is one of Edmonton's longest running charitable organizations. It will select the families who need help to put Christmas dinner on their table. The names of the families are kept confidential.

"We believe that Christmas should be a time when people do not want for anything," Jennifer said. "We are very excited to do what we can to make Christmas happen for everyone. Nobody should have to feel poor or hungry on Christmas Day."

Terra Marketing Group is also supporting Santas Anonymous this year, in which they dropped off hundreds of toys to be wrapped and given to children from at-risk families who might not have any Christmas presents at all otherwise.
