TEN2PARTY is Chicago's revolutionary, online "Party-Building-Platform"; offering its Members an abundance of Party-planning options, while PAYING them to host their Parties at affiliated Bars, and donating a portion of every party's proceeds to charity.
- (1888PressRelease) June 26, 2013 - (Chicago, Ill.) - Ten2Party, Chicago's revolutionary online "party-building-platform" that donates a percentage of its profits to charity, while paying users to host custom-built, easy-to-plan parties, has officially debuted this summer. Ten2Party was born from the creative minds of three young entrepreneurs who found a niche in the local party market for 20-somethings who are looking for a simple platform that allows them to plan and host their private parties.
Just in time for the 2013 summer party season, Ten2Party brings over a dozen affiliates together on one website and enables it's users to plan a fun get-together at a local Chicago-area venue in just a few clicks of a mouse, and then pays the party host based on how many guests attend. Members can also add catering, live music, transportation, and apparel to their party through Ten2Party affiliates.
As part of Ten2Party's innovative business model, Ten2Party also donates 4 percent of the proceeds made from every party to a non-profit cause. Ten2Party's first charity drive will support the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
Ten2Party was founded by 28-year-old Anthony Skrine and his two college buddies, Mike Vinci and Mark Wallace, (also 28) after graduating from Eastern Illinois University (EIU) together. When he wasn't in class or studying the books at EIU, Skrine made it his personal business to organize and throw epic parties that brought the student body together on certain weekends each year. These gatherings were known as "KegCrawls"-a bar crawl which initially brought over a hundred people together for kegs, bars, food and live music. As the years went on, the "KegCrawls" grew, and each event became a time for everyone to get together with old friends and meet new friends.
After graduating and moving back to Chicago; Skrine, Vinci and Wallace found that throwing legendary parties during the post-college years posed several challenges-namely, the absence of a college campus with all their friends in one place. One weekend, the guys hosted their first bar crawl in Chicago, outside the comfort of the EIU campus, and it was a complete hit.
After hosting several more successful bar crawls, Skrine had the realization that recent college grads, and people in general, needed an easier way to plan their own private parties to get their friends together. From a small gathering of 10 friends to a huge bash with a live band, catered food and custom T-shirts, Skrine found nothing out there that brought everything together on one website. That was his light bulb moment that led to the birth of Ten2Party.
"Whether you're in college, or in your late 20's, at times you want to go out and have a good time at a bar with a group of friends," Skrine said. "Whether the event is a birthday party, a bachelorette party, or a group outing to watch a baseball game, someone has to take the initiative to make the plans. Ten2Party makes party-planning simple and rewarding by paying the party host to gather friends together for a memorable night out."
Although starting a business amidst still-shaky economic times was a risky endeavor, the three friends set off to design their business model, which specifically makes it easy, fun, and beneficial to plan a party. Simply go to Ten2Party.com, sign up for a free membership, and, on the homepage choose how many guests you expect to attend. Then choose a venue and a party package, pick a date/time for your party and hit submit. (You also have the chance to add any additional party services before submitting as well.) After Ten2Party confirms your party with the affiliate(s), you pay for your individual package online, and your party is booked! Your nine or more guests can either prepay for their package on Ten2Party.com or they can pay at the door of the venue.
Ten2Party offers an extra incentive to users by paying the party host based on how many guests attend-the more guests who receive a Ten2Party wristband, the more money is earned. Members also receive exclusive invitations to attend special events with Ten2Party's affiliates.
Brimming at the seams with drive and determination, Skrine, Vinci and Wallace have poured their hearts and souls into the tech start-up, spending months working around-the-clock to secure funding and form partnerships with venues to host parties. Some of that hard work paid-off early this year after Ten2Party was selected as a member of the exclusive 1871, a Chicago tech incubator operating from the Merchandise Mart that helps budding entrepreneurs get their start.
After beta-launching last winter, Ten2Party has progressively secured partnerships with popular host venues including Bull & Bear, Market/M2, O'Malley's West, O'Neil's on Wells, Atlantic Bar & Grill, Mullets, Rokwelz, The Stretch in Wrigleyville, and more are signing on every week. Other affiliates like Chicago Trolley Company, TriMark Screen Printing, the band SunFallen and caterers SkrineChops and Papa Joes have also signed on with Ten2Party to provide all the extra bells and whistles that complete an epic party.
"Of the few party planning services that exist in Chicagoland, none have a business model or vision quite like Ten2Party," Skrine said. "Not only do we offer our members plenty of great options to custom-build a one-of-a-kind private party and reward them monetarily for hosting the party, but we also plan events for our members to attend. With Ten2Party, everyone wins…we are here to revolutionize the way Chicago Parties!"
