Technopolis GS has been recognized as the most successful private high-tech cluster in Russia
The only operating Russian private innovation cluster Technopolis GS has received recognition as the most successful private hi-tech cluster in Russia.
- (1888PressRelease) November 07, 2013 - Featuring its cutting-edge technologies and production, i.e. carbon nanomaterials (CNM) and the latest set-top box model GS U510 with Russian microprocessor inside, the Technopolis became one of the main points of attraction for the scientific community at global Open Innovations Forum in Moscow and received high estimation from government authorities. The investor and initiator of Technopolis GS is GS Group, international multi-industry holding originating from Russia.
RUSNANO CEO Anatoly Chubais drew close attention to Technopolis GS achievements while visiting the Kaliningrad region official exhibition. "What is Technopolis GS?" - Anatoly Chubais addressed the public at the Forum. "The team started by creating the signal delivery system for Tricolor TV, which is now a highly popular operator in Russia. After that they switched to production of TV receiving equipment, and then, finally, also went in for microelectronics and new materials. Now it is the only cluster in the country which has a processing facility with clean rooms for production of electronic components in 40-nanometer range. Simply nothing of the kind exists in the country!", - Anatoly Chubais concluded.
Nanocarbon materials, proprietary development of private hi-tech cluster Technopolis GS presented at the global Open Innovations Forum has been under scrutiny of RUSNANO head Anatoly Chubais for the time being. The main Russia's nanotechnologist is convinced that single-walled nanotube is a breakthrough technology. "Carbon nanotubes produced at Technopolis GS is something we can be proud of. Single-walled nanotubes is a completely other product which is invincibly believed to make a revolution in the world", - RUSNANO CEO added.
GS Group presented Technopolis GS at Open Innovations Forum 2013 in Moscow on October, 31 - November, 2. Earlier the same week, during the Second Summit of Russian technoparks Technopolis GS became the winner in the nomination "Development model of high technology technology park with involvement of private capital". Granted award marked progress in the development of the innovation cluster's infrastructure which allowed creating new jobs thus promoting its further growth and advance in the region.
Andrey Bezrukov, Marketing Director at GS Group, spoke at the round table "The best experience in innovative infrastructure organization in Russia" sharing Technopolis GS know-how when from a simple technology park the project turned into creation of a complete innovative infrastructure. The basis of the project is the production area. Within five years from establishment Technopolis GS has become the largest employer in the town of Gusev, Kaliningrad region, and one of the main companies in the sphere. It is now the largest Russian producer of mass consumer electronics with two percent of digital set-top boxes in the world. This year GS Group has begun active development of Technopolis GS infrastructure. "In contrast to the majority of Russian technology parks which share the common mission to dispose of government or public money, our goal is to continuously create and expand business growth within GS Group for its diversification and further development", - Andrey Bezrukov commented.
