  • Tampa-St. Petersburg-Clearwater, FL (1888PressRelease) April 14, 2011 - Technology Conservation Group, Inc. is hosting an electronics recycling TakeBack event in observance of Earth Day. Residents and businesses in the greater Citrus, Marion and Levy counties are invited to drop off their used computers and other electronic items - free of charge - at their corporate headquarters located at 715 South Easy Street in Lecanto, FL on April 29th, 2011 between 9am-3pm.

"We feel it's our responsibility to educate the community about the benefits of properly disposing of electronic equipment they no longer want or need. Recycling is critical to creating and maintaining a healthy environment and this is one small way we can support the community in that effort," said Hamilton Rice, President of Technology Conservation Group. "By making it a free event we hope residents and businesses alike will drop off their equipment instead of adding it to their trash."

The following items will be accepted: Desktop and laptop computers, CRT and LCD monitors, hard drives, modems, electronic storage devices, printers, scanners, copiers, telecommunications equipment, fax machines, digital cameras, power backups, power transformers, cables, circuit boards, video game systems, DVD players, VCRs, most industrial scrap, and most commercial equipment.

The following items will not be accepted: televisions, stoves, microwave ovens, washers, dryers and refrigerators
