Technology Conservation Group, Inc. Cleans Up Whitaker Slough in Portland
Technology Conservation Group, Inc. (TCG) cleaned up Whitaker Slough in Portland, Oregon for Earth Day.
- (1888PressRelease) May 04, 2011 - Portland, OR - Each year Technology Conservation Group, Inc. (TCG) participates in activities to promote and support Earth Day. For the second year in a row, employees from the Portland, OR facility spent time on Earth Day cleaning trash and debris from Whitaker Slough. Whitaker Slough is a tributary of the Columbia Slough and is also a wildlife area. In 2010 employees cleaned 693 lbs of trash, debris and hazardous waste from the slough. This year they collected 340 lbs of waste. The decrease in trash in the slough excited the employees as they were able to see how their actions directly improve the quality of life for the animals in the area.
Although Earth Day is just one time during the year where each facility selects a project in their area support, TCG and its employees continually conduct themselves as environmental stewards to make the Earth a cleaner place. From roadside adoptions for quarterly cleaning, participating in Adopt a Shore waterway cleanups and the education of school children in their locale, TCG is committed to the environmental health of their communities.
