TechKriti 2013 - A Technical And Entrepreneurship Festival
Initially, Techkriti was launched in 1995 with the aim of developing interest for technology among students. In past 17 years TechKriti has become one of the most awaited festivals among students.
- (1888PressRelease) March 07, 2013 - One of the prestigious institutes in India Indian Institute of Technology-Kanpur is set to celebrate its annual technical and entrepreneurship festival 'TechKriti'.
Since its inception in 1995 TechKriti has achieved its aim of developing interest and encouraging innovation in technology among students so far. In past 17 years TechKriti has grown and fulfilled its purpose and has become one of the most awaited festivals among students in all over India.
This year Techkriti 2013 aims to go one step further and solve issues that plague society through a theme 'FIXING THE PLANET'. TechKriti officials say "merely expressing concerns does not serve much purpose, unless those concerns are addressed by concrete and timely actions". Techkriti'13 will be a Carbon Positive festival apart from various other initiatives.
In 2013, there would be a wide range of competitions in diverse fields; some of the major competitions are following:-
Junkyard Wars: - it is bout transforming backyard junk into machines
Ideas: - The Business Plan competition
Robo Games: - A showcase for robot-fanatics
Rube Goldberg: - Its al about deliberately over-engineered machines.
Cruise Control:- An aero modeling event where IC engine aircraft are tested.
SocCon: - It's about developing technical solutions for problems being faced by society.
Endeavour: - An open invitation to bright minds with innovative ideas from all departments.
SOFT Kriti: - It is a software contest for computer programmers to show their projects.
The venue is located in IIT Kanpur campus, nearly 16kms away from the Kanpur central railway station. Being located on the national corridor of railways the city of Kanpur is well connected with the rest of India by rail services.
