TeamSnap Updates Free iOS App, Adds iPad-Optimized Version
Many more TeamSnap web features have been added to latest release, which now runs natively on iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad and iPad Mini.
- (1888PressRelease) April 12, 2013 - BOULDER, Colo.--TeamSnap, a mobile and web service for managing ongoing activities and groups, has released a new version of the TeamSnap iOS app that brings more features to the mobile experience and also offers a version optimized for iPad and iPad Mini.
TeamSnap iOS version 2.1 offers the latest in TeamSnap's mobile user experience improvements for youth coaches, managers and parents who use the free app to manage sports teams, leagues and other groups. More than 65 percent of TeamSnap's two million web service users also access the service through a mobile device.
"We know mobile access is critical to our users, and the five-star reviews in the App Store tell us we're getting it right," said Dave DuPont, TeamSnap CEO. "Our customers are active and on the go, so we continue to bring more and more features to the mobile experience, which now also runs natively on iPad and iPad Mini," he added.
The iPad's larger screen makes it easier to do more with the app. With split-pane navigation, coaches can see features like their roster in the left pane and additional details in the right. Other mobile features:
-Coaches, managers, parents and players can subscribe to their team's calendar and sync it to their personal calendars.
-Users can view and send text messages and emails regarding game or practice updates, team information and more.
-Managers and coaches can post game results immediately to their team's site.
-Members can upload photos to TeamSnap or send them as email attachments.
-Players and parents can edit their availability for upcoming practices, games or team events.
In addition to features for teams, this updated version adds mobile features for league commissioners and administrators, including functions such as accessing and editing specific teams and displaying customized fields.
"Moving forward, our goal is to bring all features of the website to the mobile experience, including the ability to enter player statistics right on the field and collect payments on the go," said TeamSnap's Vice President of Product Management Andrew Berkowitz.
TeamSnap version 2.1 is free and is available in the iTunes App Store.
