The Global Community Tennis Association is holding their first fundraiser in the Clearwater Community Volunteers Center in Downtown Clearwater to support their program of teaching youth to play tennis.
- Tampa-St. Petersburg-Clearwater, FL (1888PressRelease) August 30, 2018 - On Saturday September 1st, Global Community Tennis Association (GCT), a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, is holding an afternoon tea fundraiser in the Clearwater Community Volunteers Center, supported by the Church of Scientology Flag Service Organization. Tickets to the tea are $20 each and it will be the first in a series of fundraisers in the Center.
The tea will start off with an introduction from the founder of Global Community Tennis, before guests are invited to mingle and enjoy refreshments. Food will consist of petit sandwiches, scones, and chicken salad. To attend, email Julie at globalcommunitytennis ( @ ) gmail dot com dot
The GCT program was created to provide youth in the community with lessons in the game that changed the founder’s life, tennis. The program helps the Pinellas County kids involved develop social skills and the drive to succeed in life.
Global Community Tennis was started in 2007 and has since been delivering free tennis lessons by providing professional tennis coaches during 8 week programs. This is done at no cost to the families of the children.
Michael Soltero, Manager of the Clearwater Community Volunteers Center said, “Global Community Tennis is providing for these children what they wouldn’t otherwise have. Its all done on a volunteer basis for the purpose of helping today’s youth as humanitarian L. Ron Hubbard wrote in the book The Way to Happiness, ‘Today’s children will become tomorrow’s civilization… Children can’t handle their environment and they have no real resources. They need love and help to make it.’”
