Utilizing their QR Code generator, their recent event registration opening announcement was sent out using a QR code that was posted on Facebook. Future implementations for QR Codes will be rolled out during their upcoming Mech Warz IV: The Iron Sky scenario paintball event in Oroville, California (near Sacramento) May 21-22, 2011.

1. What is scenario paintball and how is it different than regular paintball?
Scenario games are all-day or all-weekend theme based paintball events with hundreds of players on the field at the same time. Players are split into two huge teams (we call them armies) where they battle it out on a HUGE playing field (up to 120 acres!) including towns, deep woods, landing craft, forts, towers and more! Players can also participate in special missions given out regularly by the generals on each team. Special missions can range from search and rescue, to paratrooper drops behind enemy lines, to demolitions.

2. Hold old do you have to be to play? What is the youngest age allowed and what is the oldest?
For liability reasons, the minimum age to play is 10 years old. This is an adrenaline-pumping, mind-blowing sport that is enjoyed by people from all walks of life--from actors to doctors, students to grandparents, from 10 to 70--this sport has it all!

3. Do you have to be on a team, have played before, be a professional or own your own equipment?
No, no, no and no! That is what is so wonderful about scenario paintball. Many people form teams, but you don't need to be on one to participate. Scenario paintball welcomes all new players and seasoned players gladly teach newbies "the ropes." Rental equipment is available for anyone interested in just trying out the sport.

4. What type of people play? What sort of backgrounds do they mostly come from?
People from all walks of life play scenario paintball: men, women, doctors, teachers, military personnel, law and safety personell (and of course gaming geeks). Scenario paintball players are very diverse.

5. Is it safe?
Yes, it is safe, but it is not painless. Keep in mind that you are being shot with balls filled with paint; it can leave welts and bruises.

6. Why would someone want to play this kind of sport?
The better question to ask is why wouldn't someone want to play! Charles "Damian" Allen, owner extraordinaire of TAW SCENARIOS, served as Special Forces in the US Army, received a Purple Heart for wounds sustained during combat in Operation Desert Storm and also served as a Training NCO (Non Commissioned Officer). To create TAW, Damian took his military training and experiences and combined them with: his love for realistic, scenario-based video games; hunting; and a bit of Hollywood theatrics and special effects and unleashed them with a fury within the extreme sport of paintball. For over a decade, he has been at the forefront and authority of conceptual design and production of video game-like, live-action paintball this side of the Rocky Mountains and he doesn't seem to be slowing down. With over nine weekend-long events a year, novice and professional players converge at his events to test their skills and prowess not just against each other, but against the "Mad Hatter of Scenario" himself!
