TatvaSoft developed an iPhone app to allow plant search amongst diversified species and cultivars
There are thousands of plants species exist in the world with everyone having their unique characteristics and pest control methods that demand different horticulture.
- (1888PressRelease) July 05, 2016 - As the demand of the plants arises due to their use in multiple ways, TatvaSoft, a global leader in software development service based in New Jersey, USA had developed an iPhone app to showcase the different plant species.
This iPhone application development was done to initiate a smooth research of the plant species and cultivars. As due to the existence of several plants, it became challenging for the professionals and individuals to find a plant which they wanted. Hence, the app was developed to list down 3000 species of plants and over 6000 cultivars together. Also, to make sure that the plants are easily identified, around 14,000 photographs were displayed to target both ornamentals and native plants.
The app was designed to allow the users with an easy search facility to identify the plants based on their botanic features. Also included is an advanced search facility of plants glossaries that narrow down the plant search result. It became easier for the user to identify various plant species and know their preventive methods to control the pest attack. The app is useful for anyone who perform the botanical search, ecological survey, students and others who are interested in gardening or horticulture.
The app features visual browser where the user can find the plants by scrolling around the pictures and sort them by common or botanic names. All various cultivation requirements and botanic features were included for every plant. The user can also download the respective plant details on their phone to access them later on. A phonetic spelling and voice pronunciation features were added to learn the plant name.
As the interface of the app is user-friendly, hence it became easier to use it to initiate a search. Availability of several plants often creates confusion as few of them look alike. Those who are already aware of the fauna can easily detect them for their purpose, however, for an inexperienced person, this app is of great use.
Unlike traditional methods where the researchers having the knowledge can easily identify the plants, but having an app offers a portable way to everyone who want to inquire about the plants. The app is easier to use and self-explanatory. It has the potential of presenting the search result as expected by the user. The app had fulfilled the client objectives by including the large volume of plants database.
