- Tampa-St. Petersburg-Clearwater, FL (1888PressRelease) June 22, 2011 - Following the events in Joplin, MO on May 22, TechSherpas will be donating a portion of the proceeds from their training classes to the Convoy of Hope charity. Convoy of Hope is a charity based out of Springfield, MO and provides food, water and supplies to affected areas all over the world.
The tornados struck the city of Joplin Sunday evening and Convoy of Hope was able to respond the Monday morning after the incident to deliver food and assess the damage.
Hal Donaldson, the president of Convoy of Hope, said, "We will do everything in our power to help the people of Joplin recover from this tragedy."
Since then, Convoy of Hope has already distributed tens of thousands of pounds of food, water and supplies to devastated areas in Joplin and will continue to do so in the future. "Because our distribution center is a short distance from the disaster, we intend to be in Joplin for a long time to come," says Donaldson.
TechSherpas will begin accumulating a portion of proceeds from course enrollments beginning June 13th and will continue to do so until July 30th. At that time, the proceeds will be donated to Convoy of Hope to be used to continue to support those affected.
