Tampa Bay performer Joanie Sigal to Perform Holiday Concert to “Ring in the Holidays” at the Scientology Info Center
On Friday December 7th, the Scientology Information Center will host a holiday concert with Joanie Sigal from Broadway and Beyond. Joanie will perform an eclectic mix of favorites from Broadway to blues with a selection of well-loved holiday favorites. Light refreshments will be served at 6:30pm, and the concert will start promptly at 7:00pm.
- (1888PressRelease) November 13, 2018 - Some of the songs Joanie will be performing are favorites she grew up singing for the holidays. “Music is a universal language and the holidays are especially a time when music brings people together with tunes everybody knows and loves. That familiarity unites people of all races, colors and creeds,” said Joanie. “I’m really excited to share these songs with the audience as they are songs most people know. I’m pretty sure most will want to sing along.”
Joanie came from a performing arts background. Her mother is a trained musician who played the organ, sang in choirs, directed the choir or some combination thereof at every military base they lived on, Joanie’s father being a career Air Force man.
When her dad retired to Hawaii, Joanie rekindled her love of acting and singing and immersed herself in theater during her college years. She was a featured performer with the Hawaii Performing Arts Company, the Honolulu Theatre for Youth and the University of Hawaii productions. She was also a featured player in the stage show "Paradise Found" which she performed in Honolulu for 2 years in the 70s.
“Joanie’s career of performing in the Tampa Bay area began in 1997 right here in the Clearwater Building,” said Amber Skjelset – Manager of the Scientology Information Center and event organizer. “We love having her back to perform to help us ring in the holidays.”
