Washington, DC-MD-VA-WV (1888PressRelease) October 12, 2010 - Wild at heART artists Linda Harrison-Parsons and Marilu Tousignaut will be featured at Blossom and Basket Boutique, 3 N. Main St., Mount Airy, MD. Special two day event, opening Friday, October 22 from 5:00 - 8:00 PM. Saturday, October 23 from 11:00 - 4:00 the artists will demonstrate their techniques for creating art.

Marilu will use an exacto knief to scratch away the black ink surface of the clay board she uses to create scratchboard art. The fine lines allow her to render details for wildlife, birds, animals, trees and flowers.

Sometimes adding just a touch of color to the Black & White images she creates. Linda works with handmade paper and soft pastel. Using a reductive style, she tones the paper with the pastel using a kneaded eraser she begins her work by pulling out the highlights and creating the form.

Adding color as she continues brings in the detail of feather and fur.

This event is free and open to the public. The artists works will be on sale along with other items in the gallery. Do not miss this special event in Mount Airy, two days only October 22 and 23. Learn more about scratchboard, handmade paper and pastel from the artists.
