Taj Palace Dubai marks UAE National Day with guest and staff activities
As well as a ceremonial cake-cutting ceremony enjoyed by guests and staff, the Taj Palace Dubai celebrated the UAE National Day with an eye on a green future, planting a young union tree sapling to become a focus in the hotel forecourt for years to come.
- (1888PressRelease) December 12, 2012 - According to Director of Finance, Mr. Ahmed Badawy, the tree symbolises the hotel's commitment to a green environmental policy, emulating the work of the government and other bodies in the country in designing a sustainable future.
"For the benefit of both citizens of the UAE and visitors to our country, we should all be looking after our natural resources, and this tree will be a constant reminder of this commitment," he said.
In addition, the Taj Palace staff welcomed guests in the lobby for a ceremonial cutting of a magnificent cake adorned with the falcon crest, an unusual palm tree made from pineapples and a host of camels - which was soon enjoyed by all those present.
"Visitors both from other emirates and overseas appreciated the skills of our chefs, as well as an opportunity to join in with the city-wide celebrations on December 2 for the UAE National Day," said Mr. Badawy.
