Taj Palace Dubai Celebrates 41 UAE National Day
The Taj Palace Dubai joined the 'Union Tree' initiative by Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM) to celebrate the 41st UAE National Day on December 2.
- (1888PressRelease) December 18, 2012 - The hotel planted a young union tree sapling to commemorate the day in addition to organising a special ceremony for its guests and staff.
According to Director of Finance, Mr. Ahmed Badawy, the tree underlies the values and achievements of the UAE over the last four decades in addition to symbolising the commitment of the hotel to a green environmental policy, emulating the work of the government and other bodies in the country in designing a sustainable future.
"For the benefit of both citizens of the UAE and visitors to our country, we should all be looking after our natural resources, and this tree will be a constant reminder of this commitment," he said.
The hotel welcomed guests in the lobby for a special cake-cutting ceremony. The cake was beautifully adorned with a falcon crest and an unusual palm tree made from pineapples and a host of camels.
"All our guests appreciated the skills of our chefs. It was a very proud occasion and gave us the opportunity to join in the country-wide National Day celebrations,"Mr. Badawy.
