With regards to the Middle East Taher Suterwalla has studied the market over the past 5 years and like many other investors and reaped the benefits of the property market but believes there has to be a correction. However the commercial opportunities are looking all the more attractive and there’s been a significant switch between residential and commercial.
The UAE stock market which seems to have had a straight 3 year gain finally as expected corrected and squeezed many investors out, giving back many gains over the past few years and seeing a major money switch from shares to property, hence another factor boosting the UAE property market.
However in many peoples eyes the whole UAE market is bubble ready to burst, and Taher Suterwalla like others feels that its only a matter of time and investors should be very cautious.
Outside of Dubai Taher Suterwalla has identified many others emerging markets such as Bahrain and Qatar. However in global eyes there will only be one real hub in the Middle East and that being Dubai.
As for the UK property markets Taher believes with such an influx of foreign monies the market has managed to hold and in certain areas increased especially with London.
Along with others Taher Suterwalla believed there was a correction due one year ago but was mistaken as property price are still on the increase even after interest rate increases.
This is a market and we cannot predict what will happen or when things will change dramatically however we can continue to find opportunities and distribute cash flows across the board in order the hedge portfolios ,whether is be finanacial markets, property markets of straight interest related products and with the even balance Taher Suterwalla believes gains will be made well in excess of bank interest.
