- (1888PressRelease) August 23, 2016 - Atlanta, GA, USA - T5 Data Centers™ (http://www.t5datacenters.com), innovators in providing state-of-the-art, customizable and highly reliable computing support environments, today announced that its T5 ( @ ) Atlanta and T5 ( @ ) LA data centers have been certified compliant with the latest credit card data security standards and determined to be compliant with healthcare regulatory standards dot T5 has received third-party attestations for compliance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), the Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health (HITECH) Act, and the Payment Card Industry (PCI) Data Security Standard dot
Compliance extends to T5's colocation services as well as its wholesale data center services and gives T5 a competitive advantage when bidding for healthcare and transaction-driven contracts, especially for data center customers since certification for wholesale data centers is less common. To qualify, T5 worked with independent auditors to verify that all the necessary physical and network security components were in place.
"We are seeing more RFPs from healthcare service providers, insurance companies, e-commerce companies, and financial institutions that need assurance that our facilities comply with the latest security standards," said Frank Lyles, Chief Business Officer for T5 Data Centers. "We elected to use a third-party auditor so our customers could be confident in our standards compliance, and so we could expand security testing beyond the scope of the standards. I am pleased to say that our physical and network security procedures were tested and found to meet or exceed the rigor of the applicable standards."
The HIPAA Security Rule is a national standard to protect patient medical records and personal health information. It requires appropriate safeguards to protect personal health information, including standards for the safe handling of patient data. The HITECH standard promotes the adoption of health information technology, including the secure electronic transmission of health information. PCI-DSS is a set of industry security standards that ensures that all companies that accept, process, store, and/or transmit credit card information, maintain a secure environment.
