T.R. Threston coins the term "culinary travel cookbook(TM)" by registering for a trademark
Publisher and author T.R. Threston registers for trademark of "Culinary Travel Cookbook™" as part of the T.R. Threston brand.
- (1888PressRelease) October 28, 2014 - Publisher and author T.R. Threston has registered for a trademark for her coined phrase of "culinary travel cookbook™." When asked about it, Threston said "Since I'm not a chef, I didn't want any misconceptions that I was passing myself as one. I have too much respect for the industry, and, I didn't want to insult anyone.
So I came up with the phrase "culinary travel cookbook" to explain to readers and potential readers that while some of my new book ("La Famiglia Ricette") does have recipes, it also contains travel tidbits and information - in this particular case, about Italy." And, since I never saw the term used, I applied for the trademark to help distinguish myself from the pack.
Notting Hill Publishing's Elizabeth Brown, C.E.O. of the company, proclaimed "Without a doubt Tina (as T.R. Threston is known to friends and family) is a genius. I never would have dreamt of coining the phrase "culinary travel cookbook™" and I know a lot of tongues are wagging because of it." Brown continued "It's one of those situations where people will stop and ask themselves "now why didn't I think of that" and it just goes to prove that Tina (T.R. Threston) has a mind for business, and, isn't just a writer. She's the whole package. And, make no mistake about it - she IS a brand!"
The trademark process is slow and can take up to a year for full approval. In the meantime, Threston legally has the right to use the Trademark symbol ™ to protect her phrase until the trademark is finalized.
