Systat Software Inc Releases SigmaStat 4.0
An updated version of Systat Softwares product "SigmaStat" has been re-released as a standalone Statistical Analysis software package for the Windows operating system.
- (1888PressRelease) February 04, 2016 - San Jose, Calif. - SigmaStat 4.0 is a major upgrade to the previous version. Over 30 new features and enhancements have been added. These include ease-of-use improvements to the user interface, eight new statistical procedures, enhancements to the transform language and nonlinear regression procedure, five new result graphs and many graphing enhancements.
Systat Software Inc a leading developer and supplier of award-winning scientific software and services today announced SigmaStat version 4.0 the latest version of their statistics software package designed to help scientists and engineers work their way through sometimes complicated and terminology-rich statistical procedures.
This version has multiple new statistical procedures including Principal Components Analysis (PCA), One-Way Analysis of Covariance (ANCOVA) with multiple covariates, Deming Regression and Cox Regression. New user interface additions include the ribbon interface, right-click mouse menus and drag and drop of items in the Notebook Manager.
36 new probability distribution functions are added to the transform language and generalized weighting has been added to nonlinear regression to allow use of user-determined error distributions and to enable robust fitting techniques. New graphs include profile plots for multi-factor ANOVA and normality test graphs. A new graph properties dialog makes editing graphs much easier with instant redraw when properties are changed. Of course all the previous features are there that assist the user selecting and running the correct test and in obtaining and understanding the results that they get.
More than 200,000 scientists and engineers have used SigmaStat worldwide. John Wass, PhD, reviews it as "
simple with useful tools and many explanations, both in the manual and within the program. It is the ideal program for the statistical novice!" Its approach has been called Advisory Statistics because it helps determine the correct test to use and then automatically examines your data to see if it satisfies the statistical assumptions. The updated SigmaStat4.0 adds multiple new analysis methods to extract additional information from your data.
Principal Components Analysis (PCA) finds variables that succinctly describe your data. Analysis of Covariance (ANCOVA) improves the description of your data by including the effect of important "nuisance" variables.A total of 36 probability functions have been added that can be used for function fitting or curve visualization. Graphical visualization of PCA results is enabled with Scree, Component Loadings and Component Scores plots. Similarly, graphs of adjusted means with confidence intervals and regression lines for groups have been added for ANCOVA.
