Syntactics CEO Attends 3rd National ICT Summit in Bacolod City

Caragos - recently attended the 3rd National Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Summit held last November 25 and 26 in Bacolod City.
The recent 3rd National ICT Summit in Bacolod was hosted by the Bacolod-Negros Occidental Federation for Information and Communications Technology.
10 major cities and provinces - particularly Cagayan de Oro City - were represented by different Outsourcing Philippines based companies, organizations and a few major universities.
The main goal of all National ICT Summits is to forge the Philippines as one of the world's largest outsourcing services and off-shore destinations for IT based business process outsourcing industries such as web development, web designing, search engine optimization, medical transcription, and call centers.
Key objectives of the ICT is to get the national and local governments to meet and develop the IT-BPO industry as a major economic player and develop linkages between this business sector and the academe; highlight best practices in the academe-industry collaboration; enable institutions and local government to calibrate standard demands needed for the IT-BPO industry.
There were a total of 27 major speakers from various sectors including the 2 guest of honors, Sec. Ivan John Uy - Philippine Government Chairman for the Commission on ICT, and Cong. Sigfrido Tinga - Tagiug City 2nd District Representative and Chair of the Committee on ICT.
Topics ranged from healthcare outsourcing, technology gap between industry and academe, IT literacy employability, wordpress development, software development, essentials of outsourcing Philippines, IT-BPO growth, and calibration of Next Wave Cities.
For the Next Wave Cities, this same National ICT, the Philippine ICT Commission, BPAP (Business Processing Association of the Philippines), and the DTI had already conferred on Cagayan de Oro City the ranking of 7th in the Next Wave Cities Scorecard in developing the IT-BPO industry.
