  • (1888PressRelease) June 06, 2011 - Simply switching from traditional to modern lighting systems in public and commercial buildings, could result in huge savings in energy costs. This will be one of the focus topics at Light Insight Arabia taking place alongside Light Middle East in September.

Potential energy savings, environmentally-friendly illumination systems and the latest developments and trends in the lighting industry will be under the spotlight at Light Middle East 2011, the region's sole dedicated trade platform and conference for lighting design and technology. Organised by leading German trade fair and conference organiser Epoc Messe Frankfurt, Light Middle East 2011 will run from September 12th to 14th at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre.

Going by early indications, the organisers expect a widely representative turnout for the event. Mr. Ahmed Pauwels, Chief Executive Officer of Epoc Messe Frankfurt, said: "This is a niche and highly specialised show which deserves the place it holds in the calendars of some of the world's leading architects, lighting consultants and designers."

He added: "Additionally, building on the success of last year's Light Focus Conference, we have rebranded it with a specific focus on this region and it is now called Light Insight Arabia. The conference has established itself as an integral part of this event and brings together some of the world's leading experts in the field to discuss hot topics in terms of environmental care. Our Light Middle East team strives to keep abreast of industry trends and as such, the latest and most up to date topics are presented during the three-day conference."

This year's conference which will focus on better lighting solutions within the Arabic world has already confirmed leading experts in the field. Professor Andreas Schulz winner of German Lighting Designer Award 2011 will be brought in courtesy of Zumtobel Lighting; Abdul Aziz Al Azem, who specialises in culturally specific lighting such as that for Mosque lighting; and Enrique Peiniger, founder and principal of the Office for Visual Interaction are amongst the experts to present at Light Insight Arabia. Enrique Peiniger is one of the chief lighting deisgners for Zaha Hadid projects in the Middle East.

The conference will be a key meeting place for architects, lighting consultants, designers, manufacturers, suppliers, and other industry professionals. It will be a platform for industry professionals to have lively discussions on energy efficient topics with a particular slant on sustainable lighting solutions.

Given its regional reach and representation, Light Middle East traditionally features a range of leading international players in the lighting and design field. Going by early indications, the 2011 eddition is expected to be fully representative of the regional industry. Among the key exhibitors confirmed so far are: OSRAM, RUUD Lighting Arabia, Thorn and Zumtobel Group.

Kevin Lander, General Manager, MENA region for the Zumtobel Group, gold sponsors for the conference, said: "At Light Middle East we will showcase some of our most efficient lighting solutions. We consider the exhibition to be an essential platform for reaching out to the emerging markets of this region. The industry is still considered to be in its infancy here, particularly in terms of efficient lighting solutions, but with the vast array of projects in development, it is also a region which holds immense potential."

Light Middle East is part of the architecture and technology fairs of Messe Frankfurt, headed by the biennial world-leading Light + Building in Frankfurt.
