Swisscom launches SME Business World with web-based apps
Swisscom is launching SME Business World, an online platform aimed specifically at Swiss SMEs. The platform offers web-based applications, specialist expertise and networking opportunities.
- (1888PressRelease) October 01, 2012 - SME Business World is a package with tools for the various aspects of day-to-day business. The central element of the online platform is the Business Marketplace, featuring web-based applications from innovative third-party providers. Tips and specialist expertise on business-specific topics will help customers develop their knowledge and exchange experiences. Business customers can create their own company profile to promote networking with other SMEs. Roger Wüthrich-Hasenböhler, Head of Swisscom's Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises Division, is convinced that the platform will be a success: “SME Business World makes it simpler and safer than ever to access digital resources. It combines tools and information, enabling SMEs to leverage and develop their business potential to the full.
Secure applications for day-to-day business
The business apps on SME Business World are checked by Swisscom to ensure they comply with security standards and are easy to use. The current portfolio of web-based applications for typical business activities ranges from online marketing resources to basic client or financial management tools. Further applications will be selected via a multi-stage process and integrated into SME Business World on an ongoing basis. Business apps can be tested free of charge before purchase, then paid for with a credit card. Prices range from CHF 6 to CHF 149 a month. Business apps can be accessed via a secure connection using the tried-and-tested Swisscom login (single sign-on).
Support and exchange – by SMEs for SMEs
On SME Business World, business customers can seek support and exchange ideas via a knowledge pool comprising first-hand reports, specialist articles and scientific and practical studies. Content partnerships with universities (of applied sciences), the KOF Swiss Economic Institute in Zurich, the KMU Next foundation for SMEs in Berne and contributions from SMEs and Swisscom experts ensure a constant supply of new data for the pool, making it a real treasure trove of information on SME issues. SMEs also have the opportunity to develop their knowledge through training sessions, web seminars and product/training videos and make targeted use of applications.
SME Business World goes live on 1 October 2012. Content is available in English, German and French. Certain applications are only available for specific language regions.
