Swisscom and NTT Europe: Strong partnership in Asia
Asia is an important growth market for globally-operating Swiss companies.
- (1888PressRelease) September 09, 2011 - Together with Japan’s telecom provider NTT Europe, a 100% subsidiary of NTT Communications, Switzerland is expanding its international WAN services even further and strengthening its presence in Asia. Swisscom customers will benefit from considerable improvements in local IP networking plus higher coverage levels in many Asian countries.
A quick, smoothly-functioning network already forms the basis for the success of any company, particularly of those in an international environment. WAN (Wide Area Network) makes it possible for globally-operating companies to easily interconnect all their locations. In order to offer its customers high-quality information and communications solutions in Asia as well, Swisscom has entered into a partnership with NTT Europe, a 100% subsidiary of Japan's NTT Communications. Asia is one of the world's strongest international growth markets and offers Swisscom huge market potential. Internationally-operating Swiss companies and organisations are already represented with over 1,800 branch offices in Asia.
WAN services with maximum availability
This partnership is centred around the optimised interconnection of company sites. Close cooperation means that the network platforms (MPLS) of the two telecommunications service providers can be connected redundantly. That in turn will enable Swisscom to offer its customers end-to-end WAN services (LAN-I International Service) with maximum availability in Asia. Urs Schaeppi, Head of Corporate Business at Swisscom, is confident in this cooperative arrangement: "Thanks to our collaboration with the strong regional partner NTT Europe, we can optimise our WAN services and offer our multinational customers in Switzerland consistent end-to-end services from one provider."

Swisscom works in collaboration with selected, well-established partners around the world.
