Swiss Company Launches Global Trading Platform for the Electrical and Electronics Industry
Online portal, Elecmarket.com, provides a trusted environment to help buyers find manufacturers and suppliers from the emerging markets - and vice versa.
- (1888PressRelease) July 30, 2012 - Basel, Switzerland - For many companies the benefits of exploring opportunities in the emerging markets, like China, India, Brazil and Russia, are outweighed by the perceived risks of doing business globally. It is a fear that Swiss entrepreneur, Serge Bogachev, has made it his mission to tackle with the launch of Elecmarket.com.
This is an online portal which provides a trusted environment for electrical and electronics manufacturers and suppliers throughout the world. It aims to provide a single hub for all aspects of the industry with a virtual marketplace being combined with an information and communication platform.
Company founder, Serge Bogachev, developed the idea for Elecmarket.com while studying for a master's degree which involved in-depth analysis of existing online trading portals. What he found was an online environment which did little to dispel the fears associated with global trading - fake company profiles, inaccurate/outdated information and a general lack of data monitoring.
The Russian born entrepreneur said: "What struck me while carrying out the research was the way business has become increasingly global in nature, but for most companies the tools to operate at this level are just not available.
"There was a general reluctance, especially from smaller Western companies, to enter into these emerging markets. It's primarily the fear of stepping out into the unknown and without proper guidance it can be a daunting prospect.
"On the other side, we also have the companies in countries like China and India who have highly competitive services and components to offer but have very little visibility outside of their own territories.
"So this is exactly what we have set out to address. Our aim is to provide companies with a place which will give them confidence to start exploring the amazing opportunities out there - both for suppliers and manufacturers.
"At the moment the main beneficiaries of this global marketplace have been the major corporations, so with Elecmarket.com we're making this accessible to businesses of all shapes and sizes."
Serge, along with his trusty companion, a Beagle called Gosha, launched the portal from the company's offices in Switzerland but they also have teams helping to promote the service in countries throughout the world.
Elecmarket.com checks the details of all companies who register and also offer an external audit service to help create a trustworthy and safe environment in which to trade products and services. Monitoring will take place over time to ensure that information is accurate and up to date.
The site also allows companies to display which of the trade shows they are attending, either as a visitor or exhibitor, and features an updated directory of upcoming events. In addition, the site includes community forums and a news section for the world's energy, electrical and electronics industries.
